My Favorite Things About Spring (Repost)

Hi, friends! I’m taking the weekend off from writing because (1) it’s the first days of March Madness, and (2) because I’ve been sick for a few days. Although this post is not new to me, it may be for you! I encourage you to read it for hopeful reminders and things to look forward to as we transition from winter to spring. Enjoy!

Happy Spring! Is it just me, or did winter seem to last longer than normal? Besides the pollen (that’s why it comes in 2nd place for my favorite seasons), I can’t get enough of spring! Today I’ll be sharing a quick post about just a few reasons why I get excited about spring every year.

March Madness

For me, March Madness is always the first sign that spring is near. Filling out brackets (although, mine was busted this year. At least I’m not the only one), watching history be made, and “One Shining Moment”.

It also helps when the Tar Heels win😁 Since they won last night, I’ve been on edge all day about the next game tomorrow. Distracting myself with other games helps, which is exactly what I’m doing right now. I probably shouldn’t be dividing my attention between basketball and my blog, but I can’t give up either right now πŸ˜‚

Plants Blooming

There aren’t many flowers in bloom where I live yet, but I know they’re coming soon because all the pollen just started this week. I always look forward to seeing them come back- they’re so refreshing and make everything outside look so much happier and more alive!

Warmer Weather

I don’t look forward to the hot summer weather, but I love when it warms up a bit in spring. Neutral temperatures and low 70s are my favorite, and I just want to sit outside all day long!

Lent/Easter

When many people think of spring, they think of Easter. I just love the season of Lent and celebrating Jesus’ resurrection so much! (Plus the chocolate, of course πŸ˜‰)

My Birthday

Probably the first thing that has always come to mind when I think of spring. When I was younger, it was the most anticipated event since Christmas. I also think it’s really neat that my birthday is only two days after my dad’s, so we always have a fun time celebrating.

“Home Stretch” Of School

Next week starts the first day of the last quarter of the school year for me! 2nd semester is going by way faster than 1st semester for me, and of course I like my classes this semester better. Oh well. Once you get to 4th quarter, it’s practically the home stretch of the school year (besides finals).

Pastel Colors

I don’t know about you, but I love pastel colors! To me, they just feel happy and light. It’s just a small aspect of spring, but I couldn’t imagine the season without it.

What’s your favorite part of spring? Leave a comment below!

I hope you have a great week filled with hints of spring! πŸ™‚
